I don t know about you, but while I have been feeling incredibly grateful for a long summer of relative freedom in New Zealand, the threat of another lockdown has felt a little closer each day lately. And today Auckland wakes to lockdown level 3 with many businesses closed, schools shut and the rest of New Zealand in level 2.

Atalanta moved up to seventh, level on points with fifth-placed Napoli, after Luis Muriel scored in the 90th minute to earn a 1-0 victory at Cagliari.
One week after losing to Juventus, who jumped into third, Roma took advantage of the reigning champions loss to Napoli on Saturday night.
Roma continued their strong form at the Stadio Olimpico even without Edin Dzeko, who returned from his brief exile when he came on for the last 21 minutes. They are the only team in Serie A unbeaten at home this season.

Many Auckland schools and kindergartens have been empty today as the city ends its first day back in level 3 Covid lockdown.
The Auckland Kindergarten Association said 109 of its 120 kindergartens had no children at all today and the other 11 had only one child each. In three of those, the child only stayed for an hour, said the association s general manager of education Bram Kukler.

Auckland s cafes and restaurants have swung back into level 3 action this morning, offering contactless coffees and takeaways at short notice.
Constant rain kept the first morning of lockdown quiet in some areas but other cafes reported a busy morning with local support.
